A Present to Me from Audrey Niffenegger

I like to think of this as a personal birthday present from Audrey Niffenegger to me. Thank you for setting your release date as September 29, 2009. A great book for me as I enter what will surely be a great year!

Thanks to Jen I had the opportunity to read an Advance Readers' Edition of Her Fearful Symmetry and, boy howdy, it was FANTASTIC! I finished it yesterday, though I would have read it continuously for the previous few days if other activities (work, church, etc.) hadn't gotten in the way.

This is the sort of book that renews my love of fiction, and my belief in current-day authors. As one who LOVES Victorian literature, I sometimes fall into thinking that nothing good has been written since 1900. Thank you, Audrey, for proving me wrong again.

I'd love to read this one sometime, after I get through at least two of the other books on my bedside table. Gotta get that pile down!
