"You may tyrannize the ungodly, but you shall not dominate my religious principles, either by words or through deeds." (Eleazar, to Antiochus IV Epiphanes, ca. 167 B.C.)

I think my relationship with my seminary education may be somewhat bipolar. My last post in this genre was full of angst and uncertainty. After class yesterday, I am once again energized and excited to be a part of the theological learning community. The change? Jewish history, 567 B.C. That is right. I, apparently, am a church history nerd. Awesome.

Accept, O Lord, my thanks and praise for all that you have done for me. I thank you for the splendor of the whole creation, for the beauty of this world, for the wonder of life, and for the mystery of love. Above all, I thank you for your Son Jesus Christ; for the truth of His Word and the example of his life; for his steadfast obedience, by which he overcame death; and for his rising to life again, in which we are raised to the life of your kingdom. Amen.
