Lord, My Heart is Set On You

Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

Hello, Chicago - how are you? Hot and rainy as heck, that's right. Making me rather unhappy today, as I was supposed to entertain my extended family with a trip to Lincoln Park Zoo. But, alas. To the northern-lands instead.

Hello, Chicago - it's been a week. My vacation was good. Great, actually. Who doesn't love 600 high schoolers in one confined space for 6 days?

Hello, Chicago - will you be my home? My vacation was so good that I return feeling that I might not stay. I came back to you with my tail between my legs 6 months ago; afraid of the world, searching for the familiar, unsure of what else to do. You have afforded me fabulous opportunity to get my heart back on track. And now that it is, I know that a call to ministry is still real.

So, Hello Chicago - for the remaining time. I think I love high schoolers too much to stay.

Lord, YOU alone have set my heart on You; You found me while I was lost; You rescued me from danger; You allured me into the wilderness not to hurt me nor discipline me with the rod, but to offer Your sweet self and the fullness of a marriage to You.
Jesus, I ask that by Your tender love, You KEEP my heart set on You.

Prone to wander, Lord I feel it-
Prone to leave the God I love.
Here's my heart, O take and seal it-
Seal it for Thy courts above.

Accept, O Lord, my thanks and praise for all that you have done for me. I thank you for the splendor of the whole creation, for the beauty of this world, for the wonder of life, and for the mystery of love. Above all, I thank you for your Son Jesus Christ; for the truth of His Word and the example of his life; for his steadfast obedience, by which he overcame death; and for his rising to life again, in which we are raised to the life of your kingdom. Amen.
