Season Finales and the Freedom of Summer

I rarely admit this, but I am a television addict.
(See Ellen's monologue from May 6.)

Admitting this is the first step to recovery, yes?
Well, I think the second step is the current wave of spring season finales. Thank the Lord! Now, I enjoyed nearly every minute I devoted to The Biggest Loser, Brothers & Sisters, Grey's Anatomy, and several other shows I may be too embarrassed to reveal on the World Wide Web. But there comes a point in the year when it is just time to cut the cord. As much as season finales are for the vacations of the actors, they have also got to be to re-interest the television viewer. I cannot imagine an entire, unending year of wondering how much weight Mike has lost this week. Or waiting for Izzie to suck it up and get treatments already. Or the crazy Walkers and their insane affairs. Thank goodness it is summer! Freedom! (Well, until Project Runway starts...)

Haha--I also am looking forward to being freed from my shows (Grey's, 24...), but unfortunately, I think there are more shows starting up now than ending. Clearly Wipeout, The Bachelorette, and So You Think You Can Dance are not to be missed!

I don't know how I feel about watching The Bachelorette. I kind of watched The Bachelor for the first time this year and am not sure I can respect Jillian for going back...

I'm so addicted, it has nothing to do with respect anymore!! Haha. And I hear she does stuff during the season that is going to make people not like her. Oh well, I can't help myself anyway! When you're feeling that it's all to much drama for you, you should definitely try Wipeout. Great stress relief.

Accept, O Lord, my thanks and praise for all that you have done for me. I thank you for the splendor of the whole creation, for the beauty of this world, for the wonder of life, and for the mystery of love. Above all, I thank you for your Son Jesus Christ; for the truth of His Word and the example of his life; for his steadfast obedience, by which he overcame death; and for his rising to life again, in which we are raised to the life of your kingdom. Amen.
