Booking Through Thursday: Holiday Reading

It’s a holiday weekend here in the U.S., so let’s keep today’s question simple – What are you reading? Anything special? Any particularly juicy summer reading?

I am still working my way through a few books that have been on-going for a few weeks, now. Hopefully the extra holiday from work will help me get through a couple of them! The list:
  • The Gargoyle, by Andrew Thompson
  • X Saves the World: How Generation X Got the Shaft but Can Still Keep Everything from Sucking, by Jeff Gordinier
  • Ledgermain, by James Heaphey
Of these, I have a hard time putting down The Gargoyle (I have no idea where the story is going!), and always get a kick out of X Saves the World, even though it takes me forever to pick it up again.

I have also recently purchased several of the books for my LOST Reading Challenge, and have high hopes of read Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret, by Judy Blume, this weekend. I am not sure how I managed to get through my childhood and adolescence without reading it.

Finally, I am driving for a few hours over the weekend and hope to get through the rest of the audio book I am currently listening to: Whose Body? by Dorothy L. Sayers.

I'm hoping to finally have the time to pick up HP Book 7 again. I know... who in the history of HP readers has been able to put any of those books aside for a MONTH?!?! And Book 7 no less! This in no way reflects my devotion to and thrill I receive from good ol' Harry. Simply, it's summer and things get busy!

Amy - Before I read HP 7 I listened to all previous 6 books as audio books... took forever, so I didn't read Book 7 until Christmas time last year! But it was well worth it.

Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret, by Judy Blume - just happen to be one of my favorite book of Judy. It always good to go back to childhood books and let it bring back memeory :)

Good luck with your reading! Happy Reading and have a good weekend ahead!

Accept, O Lord, my thanks and praise for all that you have done for me. I thank you for the splendor of the whole creation, for the beauty of this world, for the wonder of life, and for the mystery of love. Above all, I thank you for your Son Jesus Christ; for the truth of His Word and the example of his life; for his steadfast obedience, by which he overcame death; and for his rising to life again, in which we are raised to the life of your kingdom. Amen.
