Oh, these United States never cease to amaze me. I grew up in a state that boasts
The World's Largest Ball of Twine,
The World's Largest Steam Shovel,
The World's Deepest Hand-dug Well, and the
Garden of Eden. There is, of course, Graceland, Las Vegas, Dollywood -- even Hollywood, for that matter -- to add to the list of things one would ONLY find in "America the Beautiful." But on a recent trip through Wisconsin (heading to the more "normal" state of Minnesota) Emily and I were quite taken with the sights at Black River Crossing Oasis, just off I-94 between Madison and Eau Claire. Below are some photos for your viewing pleasure. I have just one question:
Why orange??
Yes, this giant orange moose can be seen from the highway. I am postitive it prompts many to stop and stare ... and the trampled ground surrouding is either the moose's nightly walks or MANY photo opportunities.
Dasher? Dancer? Prancer? Vixen?
Whomever you are, Emily wants to be you.
These people sure do love their giant, abnormal statues of animals... and cheese.
I think it's funnier when the "animals" are given expressions that are easily imitated by humans.
And this... who knows? Apparently the German's love them some cheese!

Very excellent pictures. And funny. Looks like fun. And I believe growing up in Kansas prepared you to appreciate such things. :)
what a great orange moose! I'm sure the ones we have in Sweden are not as exciting. ;)
